New Zealand Police to Drive ŠKODA SUPERBS

ŠKODA is thrilled to be the preferred Prime 1 Patrol Vehicle for the New Zealand Police force. Rolling out over 2,000 vehicles – mostly ŠKODA SUPERB Station Wagons – beginning in April, the new vehicles have dominated the evaluation testing and are ready to report for duty.

Why Did the New Zealand Police Choose ŠKODA?

The New Zealand Police were forced to find a new vehicle provider when Holden owner, General Motors, announced the end of the Holden brand for the Australasian market. Kicking off an extremely thorough tender and selection process, the Police received 27 vehicle submissions from seven suppliers. To our delight, but not surprise, the ŠKODA SUPERB topped their list.

Why? The Police noted that the SUPERBS felt “safe and confident,” allowed for ample space, had large doors, easy-to-read instruments, and excellent front and rear visibility.

Vehicles were evaluated on three different topics. 20% based on non-price attributes, such as servicing and emissions, 40% on physical testing, and the total cost of ownership rounding out the last 40%.
