Why choose the Octavia?
New Zealand is a big fan of SUVs thanks to their practical features, but if you ask New Zealand’s motoring journalists, many will tell you that Station Wagons are the way to go. With a Station Wagon, you enjoy the low-down, planted handling and driving performance of a car, but with the practical features and boot capacity of many SUVs.
In fact, the new Škoda Octavia Station Wagon has 640 litres of boot capacity with the rear seats up, and a huge 1,700 litres with the seats folded down. Parkers UK say the luggage area is “best of all its comparably-priced rivals” and even “larger than many cars in the class above”.
So once you’ve more than ticked the box for luggage capacity, your only ‘down’ side is that it’s a lower entry than its high-riding SUV cousins. But perhaps you’re not quite ready to compromise driving performance for easy accessibility just yet…
Welcome to the Škoda Octavia, awarded Car of the Year 2020 by Auto Express and Plug-in Hybrid of the Year 2021 by What Car?, plus so many awards since that it’s difficult to list them all here.
